Pete Lambert, who leads the IL with a 1.88 ERA, never let the Knights get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his curveball, to pitch the Red Wings to a win, 5-0. Lambert, now 11-2, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 8, walking 3, and allowing no runs. Rochester now has a record of 65-55 with the win.

The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the top of the second inning, but Lambert was able to pitch out of a jam. With the bases loaded and Charlotte trailing 1-0, Lambert retired Danny Holmes, who struck out.
