Bisons 8-5 Winners Over Charlotte
|
Jim Weber left his imprint on the 8-5 Buffalo win against the Charlotte Knights. Weber went 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The winner in relief was Eric Morgan. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 3.1 innings. He now owns a record of 2-1. Don Jones was credited with the save, his 2nd in 2 tries.
Rony Cabrera had a big 3-run home run for the Bisons in the bottom of the third inning. With Buffalo leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a fastball from Héctor Hernández, who is tied for 2nd in the IL in complete games with 7, and swatted a home run to right. It was his 13th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Bisons ahead, 5-1.
"I still think this team can play even better," Cabrera told the Buffalo Chronicle.
Buffalo now sits at 69-55, while Charlotte falls to 62-62.
