Riding the 2-hit performance of the 24-year old catcher Cisco Barajas, the Syracuse Chiefs stopped the Gwinnett Hammers, 5-1. Syracuse starter Ismael García was credited with the win after throwing 101 pitches over 6.1 innings. His record now stands at 8-11. Syracuse now has a record of 63-62 with the win.

Barajas had a key at-bat for Syracuse in the bottom of the second. With a runner on 3rd, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 7th home run of the season and gave Syracuse an early 2-0 lead.

"I thought we played a nice game," Barajas told the Syracuse Herald. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
