The Toledo Mud Hens picked up a win at Fifth Third Field, topping the Columbus Clippers, 8-3. On the mound for Toledo was right-hander Shawn Major. He played a principal role in the triumph. Major yielded 1 run over 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 6-5. The win hiked the Toledo record to 76-53.

Ben Page had a big 2-run double for the Mud Hens in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Toledo leading 2-1 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a changeup from Tim Garnham, who is tied for 4th in the IL in complete games with 3, and swatted a double to center. It was his 14th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mud Hens ahead, 4-1.
