The Scranton WB RailRiders besoiled an otherwise fine performance by Syracuse first baseman Luis Carpio by beating the Chiefs, 6-4, at NBT Bank Stadium. Carpio went 3-5 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Phil Gilbert, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 7. His record now stands at 9-14. Juan Rodríguez converted his 9th save in 11 tries.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Matt Duffy? The Scranton WB shortstop had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the RailRiders on top, 5-3. For the game, Duffy had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
