Slumping Knights Lose 9th Straight
Charlotte wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Ron Stewart, falling to the Norfolk Tides, 5-4. Stewart threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball for the losing team. Brad Woodward, who leads the IL with a 2.04 ERA, was the winner in relief. His record is now 11-3. The losing pitcher was Kevin Arnold. The losing skid has reached 9 games for Charlotte.

Xavier Heredia was the walk-off hero for Norfolk. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Tides shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"There's nothing like the buzz of a walk-off win," Heredia said.
