The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements enjoyed themselves.

The Charlotte Knights got a superb performance from center fielder Orlando Silva, but the Gwinnett Firebirds still won the game, 7-4. Silva was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The save went to T.J. Crane, number 14 for him.

Gwinnett took a 6-4 lead on Jesús Ibarra's 6th triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Ibarra hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Charlotte pitcher Jacob Rhame visibly frustrated.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Ibarra told the Gwinnett Citizen.

Gwinnett is now 84-51, Charlotte 64-71.
