Rochester parlayed a decent outing from starter Jimmy Hernández into a solid win over the Pawtucket Red Sox. The final score was 5-3. Steve Becker got the save, his 22nd in 26 chances. Rochester is now 59-78, while Pawtucket is 77-60.

The Red Wings got a big at-bat from third baseman Jared Simpson. For the game, Simpson was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Rochester a 3-0 lead.

"I liked his command," said Rochester manager Chad Epperson. "Jimmy was throwing strikes."
