Rochester turned a good performance from starting pitcher Jimmy Hernández into a 5-2 triumph over the Scranton WB RailRiders at PNC Field. Hernández, the winner, moves to 7-3. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Rochester is now 61-80, while Scranton WB is 57-84.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Tulio Garcia? The 27-year old left fielder Garcia stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Rochester up, 3-1. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Garcia.
