Late Rally by Baysox Secures 3-1 Win
The Bowie Baysox faced a tough opponent in Portland pitcher Jorge López, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Hadlock Field by a final score of 3-1. López went 7.1 innings and allowed 1 run. P.J. Jackson was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 9 of 9 save opportunities. The Baysox raised their record to 23-38.

Scot Smith delivered a big hit for Bowie. The third baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Baysox ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

Smith told a Bowie Times reporter that the win made him feel "upbeat about our team."
