Richmond starter Manny Reyes pitched well against the Altoona Curve at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. With this game in the books, Richmond is 32-37, Altoona 33-35.

José Sánchez was the walk-off hero for Richmond. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Flying Squirrels pinch hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

Reyes called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
