The Akron RubberDucks racked up a win at New Britain Stadium, bumping off the New Britain Rock Cats, 6-3. Francellis Montas, who started for Akron, pitched effectively for his team. The winner was Montas. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Jon Baldwin. With the victory, the RubberDucks upped their record to 42-26.

Right Fielder Jesús Hernández made an impact for Akron, when he swatted a run-scoring double off Jon Baldwin in the top of the fifth. For the contest, Hernández went 2-4 with a double.

"We scored more than enough runs this time," said Akron manager Keith Johnson. "Now watch. The next game we'll probably struggle to get a base hit."
