Akron starter Orlando Galindo pitched well against the Richmond Flying Squirrels at Canal Park. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. Picking up his 8th save was 25-year old right-handed pitcher Ken Jordan. The last-place Flying Squirrels have dropped 4 straight games.

Juan Alaorbar went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk for Akron. The 23-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 3-3 tie with a run-scoring walk off Mike Perry. It was his 18th walk of the season.

"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Galindo told the Akron Citizen. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
