New Britain right-hander Don Younger pitched his team to victory over the Richmond Flying Squirrels at New Britain Stadium. The final score was 7-4. The victory gives New Britain a record of 48-26.

Juan Cabrera went 1 for 3 with a walk for New Britain. The 27-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Curt Graham. It was his 13th RBI of the season.

"I thought Don threw the ball well across the board," said New Britain manager Gary Kendall.
