In a low-scoring contest between the Gwinnett Hammers and the Norfolk Tides, Jeff Reid was the X factor. The Gwinnett right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Reid got the win, improving to 1-2. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. Ed Ford earned the save for Gwinnett, his 7th of the year.

Gwinnett used the clutch hitting of Adrian Lazar to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to give the Hammers the lead, 3-1. For the game, Lazar had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
