The home crowd had a good time watching the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and Richmond Flying Squirrels get after it.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats got a sterling performance from pitcher Bo Ferguson, but the Richmond Flying Squirrels still prevailed, 5-4. Ferguson threw 6.2 innings allowing 2 runs. The win was credited to 26-year old right-handed pitcher Robbie Sweet in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Ed Wiggins took the loss. Picking up the save was Bob Gordon, his 17th.

Richmond took a 5-3 lead on Wes García's 8th double of the season. The 2-run double, which García hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New Hampshire pitcher Ed Wiggins visibly frustrated.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said García. "You've got to get results."

The Flying Squirrels now have a record of 35-42 with the win over New Hampshire.
