The Akron RubberDucks topped the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 6-5, in Eastern League action at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Akron third baseman Javier Baez. Orlando Galindo got credit for the win, improving to 2-1. He allowed 5 runs on 7 hits in 7.2 innings. Akron is now 34-48, Richmond 37-47.

Akron used the timely hitting of Hugues Bertolucci to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the RubberDucks on top, 6-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but he made it count.

"We need to string a few more wins like this one together," said Bertolucci.
