In 11, Binghamton Beats Portland, 4-1
The Binghamton Mets picked up a win at Hadlock Field, knocking off the Portland Sea Dogs, 4-1, in 11 innings. On the mound for Binghamton was right-hander Walt Wallis. He played a pivotal role in the triumph. Luis Lucero came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. His record now stands at 4-1. With the win over Portland, the Mets improved to 40-45.

Shawn Deason delivered a big hit for Binghamton. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the 11th inning to put the Mets ahead, 4-1. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.

"We didn't let this one get away," said Deason.
