Sea Dogs Absorb 5-3 Loss at NYSEG Stadium
|
Binghamton beat Portland in a rain-soaked ballgame.
The Binghamton Mets topped the Portland Sea Dogs, 5-3, in Eastern League action at NYSEG Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Binghamton pitcher Luis Cordero. Cordero picked up the win for Binghamton, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 3-9.
Amed Rosario had a big 2-run double for the Mets in the bottom of the third inning. With Binghamton leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Ed MacFadden, who is tied for 5th in the EL in complete games with 4, and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mets ahead, 3-0.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Rosario.
The loss makes Portland 51-51.
