With first baseman António Becerra leading the charge, the Akron RubberDucks defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 11-3, at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. Becerra went 1 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 4 RBI. Steve Mossman finished to wrap up his 1st save. The win gives Akron a season record of 62-41.

In the top of the second, with the bases loaded, Becerra came to the plate. He drew a walk, driving in 1 run off Ernesto Varela to put the RubberDucks in the lead, 1-0.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Becerra told the Akron Today.
