The Charlotte Knights turned back the Norfolk Tides, 6-5, at BB&T Stadium. Waylon McFergus, in particular, had a fine performance. He went 1 for 3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Charlotte reliever Kevin Arnold picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Christian Flores was saddled with the loss. Norfolk drops to 13-15.

In the bottom of the 6th, third baseman Wes Stevens gave Charlotte the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Knights had been trailing 5-4, but the two-out single off Norfolk pitcher Christian Flores changed that -- and Charlotte went on to win.

"We ground out the win," said McFergus. "That's all that matters."
