Binghamton Beats Portland in 10-Inning Thriller
For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.

Despite a great performance by Portland shortstop Nelson Martínez, the Binghamton Mets defeated the Sea Dogs by the score of 7-6 in 10 innings at NYSEG Stadium. Martínez went 3-5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Luis Lucero notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 2 runs on 3 hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0.

The decisive blow was delivered by Bob Crouch in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 24-year old right-handed pitcher Ken Patrick to win the game for Binghamton. The home crowd went nuts.

"It was terrific getting this win," Crouch said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."

Binghamton is now 49-56, while Portland is 58-47.
