Tides Sneak By Firebirds, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring clash between Norfolk and Gwinnett, pitcher Al Rucker was a difference-maker. The right-hander earned praise for his performance in the 2-1 Tides win. Ken Parker earned his 5th save, after closing out the game. The win elevated the Tides to 18-11.
José Martínez helped out the Norfolk cause in the top of the fourth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 singles.
"The Tides earned it," said Gwinnett manager Jason Bourgeois. "Hats off to them."
