The Reading Fightin Phils got a sterling performance from pitcher Alex Broden, but the Harrisburg Senators still prevailed, 4-3. Broden threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. Waylon Cooley notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. Aurelio Flores closed out the game, earning his 4th save.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Dan Mason came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Reading pitcher Alex Stevens, he hit a full count slider for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Harrisburg on top, 4-3.
"Winning never gets dull," said Mason.
The Senators raised their record to 36-73.
