Late Rally by Fisher Cats Secures 3-1 Win
In a low-scoring affair between the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and the Bowie Baysox, pitcher Andriu Martin was the difference between victory and defeat. The New Hampshire right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 3-1 Fisher Cats win. Martin, the winner, moves to 5-5. He threw 7.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 2 walks. Doug Winters finished the game for New Hampshire and earned his 4th save.

New Hampshire used a timely hit from Augusto Mercado to get the win. The shortstop stroked a 2-run double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Fisher Cats ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Mercado told a New Hampshire Gazette reporter that he was "gratified" with the win.

The Fisher Cats improved their record to 53-57 by beating Bowie.
