Binghamton pitcher Steve Thompson did his part in helping his team beat the Akron RubberDucks, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Picking up the save was Luis Lucero. He's now 3 for 4 in save chances. The Mets improved their record to 56-58 with the win over Akron.

Making an impact for Binghamton was right fielder Kevin Burke. He drilled a double off José Fierro in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, Burke went 1 for 4 with a double.
