Jake Cushingham brought his A-game to help Akron defeat the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, 7-1. Akron is now 49-68, New Hampshire 66-51.

Cushingham dominated for Akron, raising his record to 8-6. New Hampshire hitters had few good at-bats against the right-hander, who scattered 2 hits over 9 innings while striking out 6.

"I'll be honest," said Cushingham. "I was running on fumes at the end."
