Flying Squirrels Pin 7-4 Loss on Harrisburg
|
The Richmond Flying Squirrels used the hitting of catcher Wes García to subdue the Harrisburg Senators, 7-4. For the game, García went 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times. Bob Gordon was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 5 save opportunities. Harrisburg has now lost 4 in a row.
Edmund Richards had a big run-scoring double for the Flying Squirrels in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Richmond leading 4-3 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from Mac Anderson and swatted a double to right. It was his 20th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Flying Squirrels ahead, 5-3.
"Solid performance from our side," said Flying Squirrels manager Mike Sarbaugh.
