Binghamton Tacks 4-2 Loss on Akron
|
The Binghamton Mets topped the Akron RubberDucks, 4-2, in Eastern League action at Canal Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Binghamton pitcher Brad Woodward. The Mets improved their record to 59-62 with the win over Akron.
Binghamton used a well-timed hit by Noel Owens to capture the win. The third baseman socked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Mets ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.
"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Akron manager Keith Johnson.
