The Akron RubberDucks got a good effort from starter Eric Kennedy in defeating the Binghamton Mets at Canal Park. The final score was 2-0. Kennedy picked up the win for Akron, going 6.1 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 12-6. Chad Cochrane was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 30 of 33 save opportunities.

Joe Young had a big run-scoring double for the RubberDucks in the bottom of the second inning. With Akron leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a cutter from Aurelio Jiménez, who is tied for 9th in the EL with a 3.24 ERA, and swatted a double to left. It was his 2nd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the RubberDucks ahead, 2-0.
