José Ruíz had a good game, but he could not keep the Trenton Thunder from falling, 9-5, to the Binghamton Mets at NYSEG Stadium. The Trenton left fielder went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once in the loss. Binghamton reliever Perkyn Rodriguez got the win, raising his record to 3-1. Augusto Díaz was tagged with the loss. Binghamton is now 56-65, Trenton 60-62.

Binghamton pinch hitter Omar Villanueva helped the Mets go up, 7-5, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Villanueva hit a 2-run single off Trenton pitcher Rusty Thompson.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Villanueva.
