Senators Deal RubberDucks 5-4 Loss
|
The Harrisburg Senators topped the Akron RubberDucks, 5-4, in Eastern League action at Canal Park. The standout performance belonged to Harrisburg pitcher and Elk Grove, California, native Chad Abbasi. Abbasi picked up the win for Harrisburg, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-5. Harrisburg is now 51-78, Akron 52-77.
Ron Clark had a big bases-clearing triple for the Senators in the top of the sixth inning. With Harrisburg leading 2-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Willie Snyder and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 2nd triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Senators ahead, 5-0.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Abbasi told the Harrisburg Bulletin.
