The New Hampshire Fisher Cats overcame a good performance by Richmond right fielder Jorge Morales to knock off Richmond, 8-4, at Senator Thomas J. Dodd Memorial Stadium. Morales went 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Williams Mendoza, the winning pitcher, is now 15-9. He went 5 innings, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 4. Randall Colwill got the save, his 5th in 7 chances.

New Hampshire used a well-timed hit by Kevin McInnis to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Fisher Cats ahead, 4-3. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," McInnis told the New Hampshire Daily.

The defeat makes Richmond 58-72.
