The New Britain Rock Cats topped the Portland Sea Dogs, 7-5, with youngster Orlando Sánchez playing a key role. Sánchez was 3 for 3 with a triple and 2 doubles. He drove in 5 runs and scored once for the Rock Cats in the win. Mitch Galloway earned the win, while 24-year old right-handed pitcher Pat O'Keefe took the loss for Portland. Dave Francisco earned his 19th save in 26 tries.

With New Britain leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Sánchez hit a sinker from Pat O'Keefe for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and put the Rock Cats ahead, 5-0.

"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Sánchez.

New Britain is now 84-48, Portland 60-71.
