Fightin Phils Pin 3-2 Loss on Altoona

The skies opened up and the rain fell at FirstEnergy Stadium.
The Reading Fightin Phils got a stellar performance from pitcher Dave Steward, who handcuffed the Altoona offense en route to a win, 3-2, at FirstEnergy Stadium. Giel Adriaens picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 5-6. Tim Gray was tagged with the loss.
Reading took a 3-2 lead on Chad Inman's 4th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Inman hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Altoona pitcher Tim Gray visibly frustrated.
"We're scuffling right now," said losing manager David Ortiz.
The Fightin Phils improved their record to 79-58 by beating Altoona.
