In a tight tilt between the Mobile BayBears and the Montgomery Biscuits, Juan Carlos Gutiérrez was the deciding factor. The Mobile right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. The winning pitcher was Gutiérrez, now 2-0. He tossed 8 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 7. Milo Svela earned his 2nd save, after closing out the game.

Mobile used the timely hitting of Yoel Romero to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the BayBears on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I like what I saw today," said Mobile manager , "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."

With the loss, Montgomery drops to 4-5.
