The Trenton Thunder defeated the New Britain Rock Cats, 3-2, at New Britain Stadium. Trenton right fielder José Ruíz had a superb performance. He went 3-5 with 3 singles. With the loss, New Britain sinks to 5-5.
Ben Simmons had a direct impact on the outcome. Simmons contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Trenton up, 3-2.
