Mike Williams was instrumental in his team's 8-1 triumph over the ACL Padres. The center fielder was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the ACL Giants. The win was credited to 20-year old right-handed pitcher Scot Buchanan in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Scotty Baxter took the loss. With the win, ACL raised its record to 8-5.
With ACL leading 3-1 in the bottom of the first, Williams hit a curveball from Scotty Baxter for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Giants ahead, 5-1.
Williams attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
