ACL Nets 5-4 Win Versus Athletics
|
The ACL Cubs and ACL Athletics obliged fans looking for a good time.
The ACL Athletics got a sterling performance from pitcher Johnathan Lamere, but the ACL Cubs still prevailed, 5-4. Lamere threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. After today's action, ACL sits at 8-8, while ACL falls to 10-7.
The Cubs were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 24-year old center fielder Chuck Rhodes landed a big blow. He turned a 2-1 cutter from Wes Gómez into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Cubs Park denizens into a frenzy and sent the Cubs home with a thrilling 5-4 win.
ACL manager Steve Fisher called it "a pretty good win."
