Mud Hens Use Late Score to Top Knights, 4-3
|
Toledo Mud Hens starter Jonathan Wells pitched effectively against the Charlotte Knights at BB&T Stadium. The left-hander spearheaded his team's 4-3 win. Toledo reliever Pedro Baez picked up the win, raising his record to 2-0. Jimmy Stanley was tagged with the loss. The win gives Toledo a season record of 18-17.
Robbie Lambright, who is tied for 4th in the IL in extra base hits with 15, had a direct impact on the outcome. Lambright contributed a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Toledo up, 4-3.
After the game, Toledo manager Yusmeiro Petit applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
