Todd belts 2 home runs as Mustangs Squeeze Past Orem
|
The 6-5 Billings win over Orem was due in large part to Bob Todd. The Mustangs third baseman hit 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. José Fernández earned the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. Clint Taylor closed it out for Billings, earning his 4th save.
Todd had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 2-2 changeup from Ismael López, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Mustangs a 6-5 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Todd.
"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said Todd.
With the victory, the Mustangs upped their record to 34-17.
