Giants Shut Out Mariners, 2-0
|
Scottsdale Stadium hosted an old-fashioned pitchers' duel.
The ACL Giants went home winners at Scottsdale Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Ron Sutton. Sutton stifled the ACL Mariners, enabling ACL to grab the 2-0 win. Dave Jensen finished to wrap up his 4th save.
The Giants got a big at-bat from center fielder Juan López. For the game, López went 1-3 with a double, while adding 2 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season gave ACL a 2-0 lead.
López said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
ACL is now 16-12.
