ACL Mariners starter Wally Crowder turned in a top-notch performance against the ACL White Sox at Peoria Sports Complex. The result was a win for the Mariners, 3-1. Gilberto Rodríguez earned the save, his 10th, for the Mariners. The victory gives ACL a record of 16-13.

The White Sox had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Mariners going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 20-year old catcher Tim Welch came to the plate. Welch hit a run-scoring double on a full count curveball from ACL hurler Jim Lynch. It was Welch's 7th double of the year.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Welch said after the game.
