ACL Takes 1-0 Series Lead with Walk-off Win
The ACL Athletics combined strong pitching and timely hitting to take Game 1 of the Round 1, 6-5, in a walk-off win over the ACL Giants.

The Athletics got a solid performance from starter Zander Benton. The right-handed Benton threw 7.0 innings allowing 3 runs in the win, which gave the Athletics a 1-0 lead to start the best-of-5 series.

ACL got a clutch hit from Jim Scott. The first baseman launched a 3-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a kill shot.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said ACL manager Jason Motte. "But we decided not to take it."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Tuesday, August 25th , 2026.
