Giants Even With Athletics After Home Win
The ACL Giants and the ACL Athletics will take the Round 1 to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation, the Giants beat the Athletics, 6-3, at Scottsdale Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. ACL right-hander Ron Sutton had a big role in the win. He threw 7.1 innings allowing 2 runs.

Mike Williams took ACL hurler Jesús López deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Giants on top, 3-0. In all, Williams had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Williams said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
