The Montgomery Biscuits defeated the Jacksonville Suns, 5-1, at Montgomery Riverwalk Stadium. Leading the charge for Montgomery was shortstop Rob Gill. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Dan Collins locked down his 1st save. Montgomery sits at 7-8 in the early going.

Danny Phillips had a big 2-run double for the Biscuits in the bottom of the second inning. With Montgomery leading 1-0 and the bases loaded, he got a sinker from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Robinson Santana and swatted a double to right. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Biscuits ahead, 3-0.
