Lookouts Send Pensacola Home with 6-5 Loss
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Chattanooga Lookouts and Pensacola Blue Wahoos.
Pensacola got a terrific game from designated hitter Ed McCarthy. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Chattanooga, 6-5. McCarthy was 3-5 with a double and 2 singles. He scored 2 runs. The win belonged to Jerry Shepherd in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Blake Bivens took the loss for Pensacola.
Dave Pugh drew 2 walks for Chattanooga. The 24-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 4-4 tie with a run-scoring walk off Blake Bivens. It was his 4th walk of the season.
"We had situations where we should have got some runs in, but we didn't get the runs in," said losing manager Chad Allen.
The victory makes Chattanooga 12-7.
