Runs were at a premium in the Chattanooga-Biloxi matchup.

The Biloxi Shuckers could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Ron McKinney into a win. Instead, the Chattanooga Lookouts prevailed, 2-0. McKinney threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Jake Cushingham, credited with the win in relief, is now 2-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1 innings.

The Shuckers had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Lookouts going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old second baseman Bud Swinford came to the plate. Swinford hit a 2-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from Biloxi hurler Ron McKinney. It was Swinford's 1st home run of the year.

"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager Michael Barrett.

Chattanooga, now 14-9, has gotten their season off to a good start.
