Tight Tilt Goes to Blue Wahoos, 2-1
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Pensacola Blue Wahoos and the Chattanooga Lookouts, pitcher António Castaneda was the difference between victory and defeat. The Pensacola right-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Blue Wahoos win. Castaneda got the win, improving to 2-0. He gave up 8 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. He allowed 1 run. The Blue Wahoos improved their record to 17-16 with the win over Chattanooga.
Pensacola used a well-timed hit by Jon Welch to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the second inning to put the Blue Wahoos ahead, 2-1. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"We did just enough to win," Castaneda said.
