The Tennessee Smokies pinned a convincing loss on the Mobile BayBears, 10-0, at Smokies Park. Robinson Paz was a main factor in the win. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for Tennessee. Virgil Adams notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 4.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-2. Tennessee is now 13-20, while Mobile is 17-15.
Jorge González had a big run-scoring triple for the Smokies in the bottom of the second inning. With Tennessee leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Bob Weaver and swatted a triple to left. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Smokies ahead, 2-0.
