José Rivera did all he could to help his team prevail. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Birmingham Barons from losing the game, 6-5, to the Mobile BayBears in 13 innings at Hank Aaron Stadium. Rivera was 3-6 with a home run and 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Mobile is now 20-19, Birmingham 20-20.

Jermaine Ruíz delivered a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the 13th to win it for the BayBears. For the game, Ruíz drove in one run.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Mobile field general .
